This album is my homage to a composer and pianist whom I deeply admire, Sergej Rachmaninov. All the works presented here have been inspired by the notion of beauty in the broadest sense: of nature, of a face, of the scent of winter wind. An assiduous quest for musical beauty, for the ideal harmony of a particular moment, for form and structural logic, contrast, melody and lively figuration, has led me along a path of meticulous detail on which I have often changed course, leaning towards the uncertainty of the new.

Each piece is shaped to depict its titular image in its poetic entirety. None of these works has been notated: they have been fully worked out in my mind. This lets me see the small and large ideas of a work as tiles to be played with, moved and recombined, and from such a vantage point, like a mountain peak, arrange them into the most beautiful overarching shape.
